Congratulations to Emma Quick who was selected and will participate in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as a member of the 200 member Macy’s Great American Marching Band.  She will spend a week in New York City and will march on the nationally televised parade on Thanksgiving Day.  She is the first Clearfield student ever to audition and be selected.

Selection to the Macy’s Great American Marching Band was based on written application (online) and submitted auditions via You Tube. The audition consisted of a prepared solo which shows the student’s technical skills and the student’s range on the instrument. In addition, a comprehensive marching fundamentals audition is required.

As a member of the CAJSHS Music department, Emma participates in band, orchestra, and choir. This year Emma was selected as one of the drum majors of the Clearfield Bison Band. Emma is a dedicated and talented musician who is self- motivated.

The 200-member band is under the direction of Dr. Richard Good, Auburn University, Dr. Doug Rosener, Auburn University. The Band will be cheered by the 3 million spectators lining the parade route. Arriving at Macy's Herald Square, the Band will perform for celebrity hosts, a grandstand audience, and more than 50 million TV viewers watching the broadcast live on NBC/Peacock as well as CBS/Paramount starting at 9:00am.
