Pennsylvania Highlands Community College will be hosting a FAFSA Completion Night at Clearfield Area High School on Wednesday November 17th from 5 to 7 PM. FAFSA stands for the “Free Application for Federal Student Aid”.
Assistance will be provided on how a student and parent can create their own FSA ID, how to submit their FAFSA, and a general overview of the results once your FAFSA is submitted. There will be two time slots available – either 5 to 6 PM or 6 to 7 PM - so feel free to join either or both sessions. Creating an FSA ID and submitting a FAFSA usually takes about an hour. The following items are helpful to have with you when completing the FAFSA, so please make sure to bring applicable items listed below. Bringing this information is simply for your reference while you are working on your FAFSA.:
- Your Social Security Number (Student and parent)
- Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
- Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- An FSA ID to sign electronically. (Or you can create this during the FAFSA Completion Night with our guidance)
