On February 20 – 23rd, 29 high school students in Clearfield High School’s Ski and Board Club took a once in a lifetime trip to Killington Ski Resort in Vermont. This is the second trip that the Clearfield Ski and Board club has taken to Killington Ski Resort, but they do have another trip tentatively planned for the winter of 2027.  Clearfield Ski and Board Club also makes four trips to Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, New York each winter and plans a trip to Vermont every other year. Led by their ski advisors, and Clearfield High School teachers, Denise McGranor and Jason Bowman, these lucky students from grades 9- 12 eagerly left behind the mountains of Clearfield, PA for the even more stunning, picturesque mountains of Vermont. The students' trip consisted of two travel days and two ski days which were filled to the brim with excitement and opportunity.

Killington Ski Resort in Vermont is the largest ski resort in the northeastern United States, boasting 73 total miles of ski terrain, 155 total ski trails, 21 total ski lifts, and 2 gondolas. The resort consists of 5 mountains of terrain with the most impressive being Killington Peak which reaches an incredible 4,241 feet of elevation! The resort has many long ski trails; however, the longest trail is Solitude, which winds gently down the mountain for a total trail length of over 6 miles!

In addition to the amazing skiing opportunities, the students on the trip also met multiple other ski clubs from PA that were staying at the same hotel. The groups got together for a pizza party on Friday night and a bowling party on Saturday night which added even more fun to their already amazing trip!
